Introduction

I am new to the area and would love to meet a group of people who enjoy both thinking AND doing. It sounds like a perfect group!

What are your expectations from the group?

I have no expectations but to think and meet interesting people.

Tell us something about yourself.

I am a senior sales analyst for a local dairy company. I love taking on challenges and being creative. While I do love to read, I spend the majority of my free time outside in the city, and the country.

We are constantly looking for ideas for discussion topics. Do you have any suggestions?

Countless! I love standard Socratic philosophical discussions, but would enjoy discussions of post-humanism, modern scientific ethics, world politics, etc. I am a trend-spotting fiend and love to hear what people think is coming up next.

What type of events/activities you will be interested in?

I belonged to a group based on the book Socrates Cafe up in NH. I enjoyed the lay-philosophy and pseudo-debates we had. However, I really don't have a template for activities. I think the key is to meet people with viewpoints other than my own.

Hi Beth - glad to see you join the group! I am definitely up for suggestions and preferences for meetup locations if it makes it easier for you and anyone else in the group. I am currently up in Medford as well and planned to have meetings down towards Back Bay Area, but if we have enough takers could do something closer to Station Landing, etc. Essentially I am up for suggestions anywhere between Central Square, Back Bay, Medford, etc. Mike
