Inquisitives, lords and ladies, masters and mistresses, wanton wenches, romantics, libertines, hedonists, puritans and assorted scoundrels, draw near and attend to my words:

Do you believe in true love? Do opposites attract?

What keeps love alive? Is faithfulness in our nature?

So what love life lessons have you learned on the path of life?

What lessons have you learned to make romantic relationships work?

What life lessons have you learned in finding love, in keeping love and getting beyond the loss of love when a romantic relationship ends? Not simply popular advice, or the latest self-help fad, but what really works. Works for you. Come share rules, lessons, methods, techniques, that work for you. That you actually make it a point to apply. Lessons that you've found that when you abandon them, you regret it. These can be simple little things, or perhaps the lesson of love for a lifetime. What lessons have you learned from the mistakes you made?

Come to the Meetup to be a teacher, and to be a student.

"Sonny, true love is the greatest thing, in the world-except for a nice MLT - mutton, lettuce and tomato sandwich, where the mutton is nice and lean and the tomato is ripe" - Miracle Max, in the movie The Princess Bride

Who attended?

  • 21 attendees
    •  I've changed my entire view of dating ... nah, just kidding.
    •  Excellent, open, respectful discussion of experiences, widely varying perspectives, and even specifically modern issues about relationships and dating.
    • Jim B (+1 guest)
       Fascinating discussion!
    •  As usual, the group was intelligent, interesting, responsive, respectful....yadda, yadda, yadda. My only concern is with the number of actual seats around the table versus the number of "yes" respondents. I understand that an overbook policy similar to ones airlines use is employed, on the assumption that many people say yes and do not show, however, on the occasions when that fails, we are left with people having to stand. Perhaps this policy could be re-examined.
    •  Good discussion and great time afterwards at Orleans.
