As one of the main focuses of our group is to try new and different things, I was thinking what about trying Archery. Archery is very easy to learn, lot of fun and very fulfilling. I have contacted the owner and head coach of the Ace Archers and he has agreed to give us an unbelievable deal; 2 hours of archery for only $12, which includes training (by Tom, Head Coach of Ace Archers), equipment rental and range time. Afterward (around 7:00 PM) we can move to a nearby place for dinner and drinks. Since this event will be requiring some planning, I am only allowing RSVP Yes and No.

Where:

If you are using a GPS or MapQuest, please realize that all automated maps will leave you off 1/4 mile north of our facility. We are located in a three story brick factory building on the 3rd floor. The building also host some other business, one of them World Gym (they have a big sign). Also, please be aware that North Main Street in Mansfield forks just north of Rt. 106 and you must take the left fork and go under the railroad bridge and then after the bridge, take the right fork to remain on North Main Street.

John - true archery is not easy to learn, but Tom does a good job of teaching you the basics and you can shoot up his floors anytime. He has the proper backstops and woodfloors to catch arrows that fly everywhere but the target. It's still fun and I wouldn't get discouraged. I shot into the curtain a few times when I first started. It's a really fun sport :)

You should definately talk to Tom about a possible Sunday Sept 13th lesson as well since the group has so much interest. I'm sure he'd say yes if you ask in advance.

    •  The instructor was fantastic. He knew how to give novice learners very specific focused advice on how to improve. His review of archery history was quite informative. Including, reviewing the very motivating consequence for a young Mongolian archers on fast moving horseback who failed to score a perfect 3 hits on their target.
    •  This was an awesome meetup! I would love to do it again.
